Next: Usage Guide
Usage
Apply and manage exclusive Cyrillic typefaces directly within your design files.
Once installed, open the plugin panel from the Resources tab. Select any text layer, then click "Apply TypeLab Font". The interface exposes full variable control: Weight (100–900), Width (75%–125%), and Opticals (8–72pt). Toggle OpenType features like contextual alternates, discretionary ligatures, and Cyrillic-specific small caps directly from the panel. All changes are non-destructive and update live across your components and auto-layout frames.
Configure Variable SyncVariable Synchronization
Keep font variables in perfect alignment with your design system tokens.
TypeLab bridges Figma’s native variable system with our proprietary Cyrillic axes. Enable "Auto-Sync" in the plugin settings to map TypeLab weights to your Figma style tokens. When a designer updates a token value, the plugin recalculates the optical size and width interpolation across all linked text layers. Supports Figma’s latest variable collections and publishes updates via your team library without manual republishing.
Token Mapping
Link TypeLab’s 9-axis variable structure to your existing typography tokens for consistent scaling across desktop and mobile breakpoints.
Library Push
Synced variables automatically publish to your team library. Accept updates in one click to keep all workspaces and engineering handoffs current.
Troubleshooting
Resolve common rendering and sync conflicts quickly.
Font Fallback to System Default
If Cyrillic glyphs render as system fallbacks, verify that the variable font file is cached locally. Run "Clear Cache & Reinstall" from the plugin menu, then restart Figma.
Variable Axes Not Updating
Check that your Figma version is 115.0 or higher. Older builds do not support dynamic width interpolation. Update your client and reload the plugin panel.
